The Alberta Iron Indians Pontiac Club was established in 1983 by three guys looking for an Alberta all Pontiac car club and we now have in excess of 150 members located in both Calgary and Edmonton. We maintain a busy schedule including involvement with the World of Wheels, local promotions, monthly meetings and car cruises to some of the best sites in Alberta. In addition, we host two annual and successful All Pontiac Show N Shines.
All activities such as social events, local cruise's and attending car shows are organized by volunteers. The club welcomes owners of all models and styles of Pontiac's, whether it be a project or fully restored. The Alberta Iron Indians Pontiac Club is a registered entity under the Alberta Corporate Registries Act.
Monthly Feature Car: 1957 SAFARI
This car has a 261-6 cylinder engine, 2bbl carb and 3sp manual transmission with overdrive and 15" chrome reverse wheels. The trailer is a 1979 Boler. We put on 18,000 miles travelling across Canada, from Victoria, B.C. through 10 provinces ending up in St. John's NFLD. This photo was taken in front of Old Autos in Bothwell, Ont. The edtior of Old Autos was quite impressed by the wagon and the Boler. It brought a lot of memories back to him. We proceeded to Chicago to travel the historic Route 66 and we visited the Pontiac Museum in Pontiac, ILL. The curator of the museum could not recall ever seeing a Canadian 57 Safari wagon. This is a very special car!
